Off to New York City for some meetings and the NY Times Travel Show and to experience this ‘polar vortex’ for myself! I’m ready for some cold weather – bring it on! And, I was able to secure this: a ticket to a Late Show with David Letterman taping. Awesome!

Safety first! The newest Air New Zealand safety video is definitely their best! Thanks for showing off the amazing Aitutaki and Cook Islands!

We enjoyed a VERY successful series of events and meetings with some of our favorite travel wholesalers and travel agents in Southern California. It was fantastic meeting with old friends and new colleagues, and discussing the Cook Islands, Fiji and Samoa.  The first day of the Long Beach Adventure Travel Show was also a great success, as there were many attendees showing lots of enthusiasm for travel to the islands of the South Pacific. It was great seeing you all, and I will be back in Southern California very soon.

A huge thank you goes out to all the wonderful PATA agents who attended our Cook Islands informational breakfast in San Diego. It was fantastic seeing you all, and thank you for your enthusiasm in learning more about the wonderful Cook Islands. We look forward to working with you all very closely, and hope to see you in the Islands very soon!

A great big THANK YOU to Roseann, Wendy and the team at Outdoor Travel Adventures for hosting a Cook Islands night at Old Venice Restaurant in San Diego last night. Attendance at the event was fantastic, and the venue was perfect – even in the rare rain! Interest in the Cook Islands was very strong, and we look forward to seeing many of these wonderful people in the islands. Meitaki!

A great big congratulations goes out to John Petersen for his fantastic office-warming party. The new Cook Islands Tourism Office in North America is in Los Angeles, just off Century Blvd near LAX.  JP brought in some local Cook Islanders to sing, drum, dance and perform at the opening of his new office. There was a traditional Cook Islands blessing of the office as well.  Thanks for the invite JP, and it was wonderful to see all the local travel industry people in attendance.  Well done!

A very quick whirlwind trip to Los Angeles! I was able to visit with the new offices for Cook Islands Tourism in North America, as well as visit some of my favorite wholesalers and travel industry people. Thanks for the great hospitality – and I will be back in L.A. in two weeks. See you all again very soon.

A great big thanks to the wonderful travel agents and wholesale reservation staff that I met during last week’s trip to Portland. It was wonderful to see you all. I always enjoy visiting Portland – it is one of the best and most unique cities in America. And, during my stay, I even had time for a Voodoo Donut. Can’t wait for my next visit – Thanks Portland!
