Off to New York City for some meetings and the NY Times Travel Show and to experience this ‘polar vortex’ for myself! I’m ready for some cold weather – bring it on! And, I was able to secure this: a ticket to a Late Show with David Letterman taping. Awesome!

We enjoyed a VERY successful series of events and meetings with some of our favorite travel wholesalers and travel agents in Southern California. It was fantastic meeting with old friends and new colleagues, and discussing the Cook Islands, Fiji and Samoa.  The first day of the Long Beach Adventure Travel Show was also a great success, as there were many attendees showing lots of enthusiasm for travel to the islands of the South Pacific. It was great seeing you all, and I will be back in Southern California very soon.

The Kia Orana Cook Islands 2013 Forum has just ended, and we are celebrating another very successful event. This week-long marketing forum brings together Cook Islands travel products with wholesale travel companies from around the world. The event is held in Rarotonga, the Capitol of the Cook Islands. Creative Resort Marketing attended these meetings, and met with wholesalers from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Austria. We thank all of our wholesale travel partners for traveling all the way to Rarotonga to visit with us, and we look forward to working closely with you. Meitaki!

What an amazing treat! With a conference scheduled for the first week of December, we took of advantage of the great timing to enjoy a family holiday to the Cook Islands. What a magical week in paradise. The weather was breathtaking. We stayed in the 3-bedroom beachfront house at Palm Grove. We enjoyed so many wonderful activities and excursions. And, on Thanksgiving Day, we hopped aboard an Air Raroronga flight for our day trip to the stunningly beautiful island of Aitutaki. In Aitutaki, we took a short island tour, then boarded a boat for a day on the water: exploring deserted islands, swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters, visiting One Foot Island, eating lunch on board, and taking in the views of the prettiest lagoon on earth. I am so very fortunate to be able to visit gorgeous places like the Cook Islands, and I am thrilled that…

Kia Orana to all my friends in Seattle and Portland, and Meitaki (Thank You) for attending the Cook Islands Night we hosted in your beautiful cities. It was great seeing you all and thanks for taking the time to visit with us. It’s always great talking about Royale Takitumu and Palm Grove.  I was fortunate enough to enjoy some amazing coffee in Seattle and a Voodoo Donut in Portland!

A great big THANK YOU to all of my friends and colleagues throughout Canada.I just returned from the week-long Sunsational South Pacific Roadshow, and was fortunate enough to have presented on behalf of both Royale Takitumu and Palm Grove to hundreds of travel agents in Edmonton, Calgary, Victoria, Vancouver and Langley. The weather cooperated, with cool, crisp Autumn days – which made the warm sunny days in the South Pacific seem just a bit nicer!

I have just returned from an exhausting but incredibly successful two weeks in Europe. The South Pacific Tourism Organization sponsored a roadshow throughout Europe, visiting the amazing cities of Paris, Munich, Hamburg, Amsterdam and Berlin.  Several hundred travel agents in these cities attended our South Pacific presentation, where I was honored to present Royale Takitumu, Palm Grove, Crusoe’s Retreat, and Coconuts Beach Club.  It was so nice seeing all of these agents come out to learn about our South Pacific paradise.  These European cities are beautiful, and these agents are very fortunate to live in such gorgeous cities – however, we were very proud to present the stunning islands of the South Pacific, which really did take their breath away.  After the Roadshow, I was lucky to spend one day at ITB in Berlin – the world’s largest travel show, with over 10,000 different exhibitors in attendance. While it was a long and very…

The Adventure Travel Show in Long Beach CA just wrapped up, and it was another very successful consumer travel show. This show is very well organized, and I was pleased to be a part of it. I spent my time with my friends in the Cook Islands booth, talking to interested travelers about a trip to visit Royale Takitumu and Palm Grove. The owner of Crusoe’s Retreat also visited for the show, and helped promote travel to Fiji. Samoa had a booth, and we were presenting some great packages to Coconuts Beach Club. Great show, and met some great friends!

After a week in Auckland, it’s always nice to have a little down time in Fiji. Too bad all of my business trips can’t be like this. My first stop was Crusoe’s Retreat, where I had the opportunity to catch up with our wonderful resort managers, spend some time with our friendly local Fijian staff, and see all the amazing improvements happening at the resort. Crusoe’s looks great, and the many guests we had staying with us were having a blast! After a couple days at Crusoe’s, I hopped on a ferry at Port Denarau and visited the Mamanuca Islands.  After 25+ visits to Fiji, this was the first time I have ever taken a ferry in Fiji. It was great – very relaxing, and an opportunity to see some of these beautiful islands. I was attending a Fiji Matai Agent conference, where Fiji Specialist travel agents from North America and…

It’s always wonderful visiting Canada, and this past week was certainly not a disappointment. I just finished up a week of traveling with many island friends, on the Sunsational South Pacific Roadshow. We visited five Canadian cities, and spoke with hundreds of travel agents. I was lucky enough to do presentations for Royale Takitumu, Palm Grove, and Crusoe’s Retreat. The reception we received from these great agents was warm and welcoming. While the weather was chilly in both Edmonton and Calgary, my South Pacific friends and I were able to share a little warmth by showing off our great photos and presentations of the islands.  Kelowna, Vancouver and Langley had slightly warmer weather, but all of my island friends bragged about the warm, tropical weather they enjoy every day.  A big thanks to all of our Canadian visitors, and we look forward to seeing you on our next visit to your beautiful cities.
